Computation of Micro-Strains in Cold Formed Steels- FEA Approach

چکیده
This paper describes the computations of micro-strains at inner corner of cold formed rectangular hollow sections (CFRHS) made up of structural steels using finite element analysis. In order to obtain the micro-strains, distortion test is simulated by modeling two-dimensional structural steel tubes in ANSYS software. Two dimensional linear static analyses are performed by defining elastic properties of steel. These simulations were performed for tubes with outer radius to thickness (ro/t) ratios of 3. In real distortion tests, the direction of force at outer corner of the tube may vary in terms of angle. Therefore, this fact is taken into account while performing simulations. One more aspect is taken into consideration which is related to strain gauge placement during distortion testing. This problem is analyzed by modeling three-dimensional structural tubes and performing linear static analyses to investigate the variations in strains at inner bent section of the tube with different strain gauge locations.

Processing of Fine-Grained DP300/600 Dual Phase Steel from St12 Structural Steel by the Thermo-Mechanical Processing of Cold Rolling and Intercritical Annealing
The effect of microstructural refinement and intercritical annealing on the mechanical properties and work-hardening response of a low carbon St12 steel was studied. It was revealed that intercritical annealing of the ferritic-pearlitic sheet results in the formation of a coarse-grained DP microstructure with discrete martensite islands normally formed in place of pearlitic colonies, which resu...

متن کاملMicrostructure and Mechanical Properties of Cold Rolled AISI 304L and 316L Austenitic Stainless Steels during Reversion Annealing
Microstructural evolutions during annealing of cold rolled AISI 304L and AISI 316L stainless steels were studied. Cold rolled AISI 304L alloy was fully martensitic but cold rolled AISI 316L alloy was partially martensitic due to the higher stability of the austenite phase in the latter. During continuous heating to elevated temperatures, the complete reversion of strain-induced martensite at 75...
